The sarishop and the partner website sarisafari.com were designed to help you learn all about saris, and to give you the information you need to enjoy these fabulous costumes. There is nothing quite like the feeling of wearing a sari. By spreading the word about these wonderful textiles to a Western Audience I am hoping to help keep some of the weaving traditions of India alive.
I appreciate your feedback and suggestions, and will answer any questions you might have. Colors and texture can be tricky to convey in a photograph - mostly these pieces are so much more spectacular that the photo can show. The sari is six yards of color - hard to contain on a monitor. So please feel free to ask questions.
Since 2000, this website has been providing beautiful handloom and indigenous textiles of India. With your support the sarishop can continue on it's mission! Please be aware that all images and text are not to be copied or used without the permission of the owner.
